Overview As a result of the fighting in South Sudan in recent years, nearly 1 million people have been displaced to Sudan and have become refugees in Darfur, White Nile, Khartoum, and other parts of Sudan. The outbreak of conflict in Sudan in April 2023 between the RSF and Sudan Forces in Khartoum resulted in the exodus of Sudanese and other nationalities, including South Sudanese, from Khartoum to neighboring countries such as Egypt, Chad, Ethiopia, and South Sudan. Like any other conflict-affected group, the displaced population abandoned everything they possessed in Sudan and fled to serve their lives.
